The countdown is on for the European Universities Tennis and Padel Championships

Exactly one month to go until the start of the event!
Coimbra is getting ready to welcome delegations from various European Higher Education Institutions between 28 July and 3 August 2025, for the European Universities Championships in Tennis and Padel.

The event is organized by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the Portuguese University Sports Federation (FADU), the Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC), and the University of Coimbra (UC). Competitions will take place at the University Stadium of Coimbra (Tennis) and Star Padel Outdoor (Padel). This championship brings together young university sports talents and promotes cultural and academic exchange among the participating institutions.

A total of 35 universities from 15 European countries are expected to take part, competing in both sports and across both genders.

The Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), Coimbra City Council, the Portuguese Tennis Federation, the Portuguese Padel Federation, and other local partners play an active role in supporting the event.

The Pro-Rector for Sports, Filipa Godinho, highlights:

"We are about to welcome the European Tennis and Padel delegations to Coimbra for a sports event that promises technical excellence, fair play, and emotion, fully embracing the event’s motto: 'United by the court, inspired by Coimbra'. For seven days, we will live the passion for sport intensely, in an atmosphere of healthy competition among athletes from all over Europe. This will also be a unique opportunity to showcase the city of students — its academic spirit, the hospitality of its people, and its rich heritage. We are confident that this will be a great sporting and human gathering, where Coimbra will once again affirm itself as a European city of knowledge, youth, and sport."
